About this product
245 pieces, labelled compartments, and a cabinet that tells you what to reorder.
A 50-person first aid cabinet with over-the-counter medications, an expansion pocket, a carry handle and wall mounting.
A 245 piece first aid cabinet the maker states is sufficient for up to 50 people, including over-the-counter medications.
The compartments are clearly labelled, which is what stops a cabinet becoming a drawer of loose packets.
An expansion pocket leaves room for the items your own first aid needs assessment adds.
It mounts on a wall or any flat vertical surface, and the plastic case has a carrying handle so it can be taken to the incident.
The problem with a workplace first aid cabinet is not usually the contents. It is that nobody knows what is missing until the moment it is needed.
Labelled compartments are the low-technology half of the answer. Everything has a place, so a gap is visible from across the room and a restock takes minutes rather than an inventory.
The SmartTab indicator and ezRefill system supplied with this cabinet are the maker's approach to the same problem: they show what has been used and what to reorder, so the reorder is for what is gone rather than for everything.
The expansion pocket is there because no standard kit fits every workplace. A kitchen needs burn dressings, a workshop needs eye wash, and a first aid needs assessment is what tells you which.
In Great Britain the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require an employer to make an assessment of first aid needs and to provide adequate equipment for it. A kit sized for 50 people is a starting point for that assessment, not the answer to it.

How can I choose the right Portable Medical Kit for my needs?

How often should it be checked?
On a set schedule. Contents get used quietly and dressings and medications have expiry dates, so a cabinet that has not been checked is not a stocked cabinet.
Is it suitable for a workplace?
It is designed for an industrial setting or a large office. Whether it is adequate for yours is decided by your first aid needs assessment under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.
Does it come with instructions?

The complete guide
Keeping a workplace first aid cabinet actually stocked
3 min readIndustry Tools Company UK
A first aid cabinet fails quietly. Nobody notices the missing burn dressing until the day it is needed, and the day it is needed is the worst day to find out.
Start with the assessment, not the kit. In Great Britain the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 put a duty on the employer to assess what is needed: how many people, what hazards, how far from help, how many shifts. A cabinet sized for 50 people answers one of those questions.
Then size the contents to the hazards. A workshop with a grinder wants eye wash. A kitchen wants burn dressings. An office wants very little beyond the basics. Standard kits are a base, and the expansion pocket exists because the base is never quite right.
Put it where it will be found. On a wall, at a marked point, in a room that is not locked out of hours. A kit in a manager's drawer is not provision.
Check on a schedule and write the check down. Contents disappear one plaster at a time, and expiry dates pass silently. A named person, a monthly date, and a list on the inside of the door is the whole system.
Restock what is gone rather than reordering the whole kit. That is what the indicator and refill system are for, and it is the difference between a cabinet that stays complete and one that gets replaced every two years.
Train someone. Equipment is the easy half. The regulations expect an appointed person or a qualified first aider depending on the assessment, and the kit does nothing without one.
Ask before you order and we will tell you honestly what the manufacturer states. Free delivery across the UK on orders over £100. What we will not do is tell you a piece of protective equipment suits your hazard: that is your own assessment and the certification marked on the product.
